July 20, 2009 — Joe Nichols' current single, "Believers," is a study in faith, and he bolstered the sentiment by adding a big gospel vocal group for backup singers.
It comes at a time when unemployment is high, home prices are down and health insurance is unaffordable for many. And to Joe, that makes it the perfect time for the message of "Believers."
"This song reminds me a lot of 'The Impossible,'" he told the national radio show GAC Nights: Live From Nashville. "It's about hope, about believing in something that's maybe a little out of sight right now and maybe really hard to stand your ground in the situation you're in, but if you do, things usually turn out really great. I think God's got a great plan for people who show faith in Him and what they're here to do. And sometimes the world is a very scary place, and we're all in very scary times right now, but like I said great things u sually happen right on the other side of these things."
"Believers" is currently ranked at No. 26 on the USA Today Mediabase country singles chart. It's the first release from a new album that comes out this fall.
Joe will be the featured guest on Friday's broadcast of GAC Nights: Live From Nashville, where he'll also discuss his upcoming role in the Broadway production of Pure Country.
