Strait 'Artist of Decade' Tapes Apr. 6

Monday, March 23, 2009 – Brooks & Dunn, Jamie Foxx, Jack Ingram, Alan Jackson, Jamey Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Montgomery Gentry, John Rich, LeAnn Rimes, Blake Shelton and Lee Ann Womack will perform at the television taping of George Strait - ACM Artist of the Decade, An All Star Concert Special from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Monday, April 6th to air Wednesday, May 27 at 8 p.m. on CBS.
They will join the previously announced performers Faith Hill, Toby Keith, Tim McGraw, Sugarland, Taylor Swift and Keith Urban.
The event will tape the day after the 44th annual Academy of Country Music Awards are held in Las Vegas, Sunday, April 5, 2009 at 8 p.m. eastern/Pacific delayed on CBS.
Four other acts have received the Artist of the Decade honor, including Marty Robbins in 1969, Loretta Lynn in 1979, Alabama in 1988 and Garth Brooks in 1998. This marks the first time the Artist of the Decade honor will be presented as a separate television special.
Tickets are available to the public for this event for $200, $150 and $100 through Ticketmaster. Proceeds of all sales benefit ACM Lifting Lives.
